Cavity Brick

Foilboard insulation can be installed in the cavity between the two brick skins, making an immediate positive impact upon the R rating of a building.

Foilboard^® Insulation Panel is the perfect insulation solution for any cavity brick wall application in both residential and commercial buildings. The Foilboard^® Insulation Panel sits within the cavity between the two skins of the wall, vastly improving the thermal efficiency of the construction.

Why is Foilboard so well suited to this application? Apart from the fact that it is one of very few materials that meet the requirements of the Building Code of Australia within such a small cavity, its cutting-edge design means it can be pushed over the brick ties that join the two skins of the cavity brick wall together. The lightweight polystyrene panel goes easily over the ties and sits centred in the cavity between the skins.

Lightweight and rigid enough to support itself over the brick ties, Foilboard®’s brand new product, the Foilboard Spacer Block, has been designed to slot over the brick ties to prevent the Foilboard® from touching the brick. If contact occurs there can be a reduction in R value.
