General Installation Advice for Caravan & Motorhome Use

Foilboard Green 10mm (FB001) and 15mm (FB011) panels are ideal for insulating caravans and motorhomes. Their slim profile makes them perfect for tight cavities while providing excellent thermal performance year-round. These panels can be installed in walls, ceilings, and underfloor sections during construction or refurbishment.

Fixing Methods

Cut panels using a sharp utility knife and a straight edge.
Fix using a high-temperature neutral cure silicone adhesive (e.g. roof and gutter silicone).
Only mechanically fix if screwing or nailing into timber or steel battens or framing, not directly to panel walls or linings.
Seal all joins, edges, and gaps using Foilboard Green Joining Tape (FB061).

Tips for Wall and Roof Cavities

Use silicone blobs or Foilboard Spacer Blocks (FB071) to create a small reflective air gap between the panel and the external cladding.
In some builds, a second internal layer of Foilboard 10mm (FB001) can be installed over the frame as a thermal break. Ensure any internal lining is mechanically fixed through the Foilboard into the framing, not glued to the Foilboard.
Consult your electrician before installing around any electrical cables, due to the aluminium foil facing and EPS core.

Underfloor Insulation

Install Foilboard between timber battens placed on top of the existing caravan floor.
Then install new flooring (ply, laminate, etc.) over the battens.
Do not lay flooring directly over Foilboard, as slight compression may occur over time.
Foilboard is not suitable for external underfloor installation due to potential road debris damage and safety concerns.
